Leading Kenya's Leather Industry Transformation
The Kenya Leather Development Council was gazetted as a State Corporation in 2011 under the State Corporations Act (Cap 446) to provide direction, harmony and coordination to the leather sub-sector in Kenya.
KLDC is the leading body in the leather industry, providing policy direction and leadership to promote equitable development and poverty reduction. The Council works to strengthen integrity, professionalism and opportunity across the leather value chain.
Mandate
KLDC coordinates stakeholders, promotes sector development and supports the growth of a competitive leather industry through policy leadership, capacity building, technical support and market development.
