Services Offered by KLDC
The Kenya Leather Development Council supports the leather value chain through skills development, technical assistance, market linkages, resource mobilization and advisory services for public and private sector stakeholders.
Capacity Building
KLDC works with relevant institutions to train both new and existing industry players. The Council also provides technical support to leather manufacturing and processing MSMEs so they can improve operations, quality and competitiveness.
Training and Production Centre for Shoe Industry
The Training and Production Centre for Shoe Industry (TPCSI) is a fully equipped institute located in Thika, Kiambu County. It offers practical training programmes for footwear and leather goods production.

Market Linkages and Resource Mobilization
KLDC facilitates participation in local, regional and international marketing forums. The Council also works with partners and stakeholders to mobilize resources for leather sector development.
Technical Services
The Council provides supervisory technical support before, during and after project implementation. This includes support for processing units, effluent treatment and management, and information for potential investors in the leather sector.
Advisory Role
KLDC advises government on leather processing, trade and value chain development. It also provides guidance to MSMEs on best practices that can improve productivity, standards and market readiness.
