The Chairman of the KLDC Board Mr. Abdi Bare Duale led Council Board members and Senior Management staff for an extensive tour of the Ewaso Ngiro tannery and leather factory in Narok County to ascertain their production capacity, level of mechanization as well as their sustainability strategies in terms of raw material needed to operationalize the factory.
Kenya Leather Development council (KLDC) seeks to partner with Ewaso Ngiro South Development Authority (ENSDA) on capacity building framework for quality Hides & Skins that will encompass Arid & Semi-arid (Asal) areas.
We shall roll-out programs for capacity building, sensitization on animal husbandry as well as create opportunities that address SME issues and responsive to SME needs. Through these efforts, we endeavour to realize our goal of establishing, formalizing and promoting the growth of MSMEs in the Leather sub-sector.
We seek to open new opportunities not just for local but also foreign investors through the fast tracking of Kenanie Leather Park, a key flagship project that will serve as a gateway to East & Central Africa for the leather value chain.
Enhancing Manufacturing as a key cog in the Big Four Development Agenda will greatly spur the local economy, revitalize and accelerate productivity while promoting Buy Kenya Build Kenya Brand initiative.
